I’m Virginia Lockman - an artist who walks and makes photographs.  What started off as daily exercise quickly became the cornerstone of my artistic practice.  Looking around, I see and appreciate how nature is beautiful, strange, ordinary, vulnerable.

My images are of landscapes in the broadest sense, external and interior, real and imagined -  things one sees every day or things that often go unnoticed. With my photographs I can express my quiet reverence for the natural world, time passing, wishful thinking…

I live with my husband in Wilmington, Delaware.  When we are not here, we’re wandering, exploring, camping.  We summer in New England and Atlantic Canada.
